Adventure begins…Selling Mom’s 1955 home, so mom could have a nest egg in her “very golden” years. ( In hopefully a Seller’s Market ) Ok, so picking a Real Estate Agent sounds really easy, you open up the computer and find the agent. Yelp reviews, and other online reviews, were looked at. Well…it is not so easy….We interviewed four different agents. I wanted an agent in the Clairemont 92117 area. I wanted someone motivated, tech savvy, someone who would work to sell my Mom’s home. I did not want a agent who just waited around for the buyer to come to them & then ( even more importantly ) for all the paperwork to flow through the system by itself. We interviewed Big Name Real Estate Companies, Small Companies, and Independent Agent/Brokers.
I did not care about gender. We interviewed 3 men, and 1 woman. After those interviews I pretty much knew I was going with Janett Lewis. She is knowledgeable about the Clairemont / Bay Ho Area, & she lives there. But…I am getting ahead of myself….Janett interviewed with my 86 year old Mom, my sister, and myself. We had a “little family drama” during the interview, this happens when selling the old family home, emotions get involved. Janett was really cool, she took the family drama in, & understood. Hope this makes sense. She deals well with the unexpected. Before she left that interview day I picked her brain for reasonable improvements I could make in the home’s appearance – to make it sell better, without breaking the bank. She gave us suggestions generously – even without being selected yet to sell our home. We were not going to put in a new kitchen.. but would do new carpeting, new matching ceiling fans in all the rooms, new window coverings, painting, removing the popcorn ceiling stuff, cleaning, and of course repairs to bring house up to snuff. Those improvement took us two months -….Janett never gave up on us, she checked back regularly to see how we were doing with getting the home ready to sell. Again, we had not signed with her yet, but still she kept involved, and more than that kept us motivated…you need that motivation when you are not professional home flippers. Get the work done, get the house sold. ———-

Janett has marketing down to a science. She is an Real Estate Agent, Real Estate Broker and owns Gold List Properties…..big deal for me…she did the work and got her Broker’s License. Go Janett! In her spare time….she teaches Marketing and use of Social Media to others as a part-time job.
I always felt like selling Mom’s house came first to Janett. I appreciated that. She is honest, personable, and amazing to work with. Her knowledge of the market around the area was fantastic. Janett’s responsiveness is top-notch. She was totally involved in this sale to make sure we were able to get the best price for Mom’s home. It was the right decision to pick Ms. Lewis for us.
